WORLD DAY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE: DIGITAL ECONOMY

WORLD DAY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE: DIGITAL ECONOMY

Deadline: 21/03/2021

Description

This year’s UN Call for Social Justice theme focuses on the digital economy. As a result of the global pandemic, more of our businesses and social lives have shifted online and the digital economy has grown. However, with the digital age, these types of work often come without the protections of traditional workplaces including fair conditions, regular work opportunities, and the ability to join trade unions. Also, over 60 percent of all workers do not have a contract and the share of workers employed full-time is decreasing(ILO).
With the events of 2020 forcing more people behind computers, we would like to see how the modern digital age has affected life around the world. Hence, this could include changes in education, businesses, and social lives. Finally, if you have seen the results of the pandemic shifting our societies online, we encourage you to submit your story!
